A new domestic gas connection costs Rs 21,500 from SNGPL for a house up to 10 marla: a Rs 20,000 refundable security deposit and Rs 1,500 for the service line. Above 10 marla the service line is Rs 3,000. The optional urgent fee of Rs 25,000 puts the application on the fast track. SSGC charges the same deposit and connection charges, plus sales tax and, in Sindh, stamp duty.

SSGC does not list a fast-track fee for domestic RLNG connections. The internal pipe work inside the house, fittings and labour are extra in both companies and are arranged by the customer.
Normal and urgent connections
SNGPL (Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad). Applications are free to submit. Once approved you pay the demand notice: the Rs 20,000 security deposit plus the service line cost of Rs 1,500 (up to 10 marla) or Rs 3,000 (above 10 marla). An applicant who wants the connection sooner can pay the urgent fee of Rs 25,000. It is not refundable. Applicants who had paid the urgent fee or a demand notice before the ban on new connections are served first.
SSGC (Sindh and Balochistan). For a house up to 10 marlas or 300 square yards: connection charges Rs 1,500, gas supply deposit Rs 20,000 and sales tax Rs 225, plus stamp duty Rs 1,000 in Sindh. Total Rs 22,725 in Sindh and Rs 21,725 in Balochistan. Above 10 marlas the charges are Rs 3,000 and the tax Rs 450, giving Rs 24,450 and Rs 23,450.
Worked example
A 7 marla house in Lahore on the fast track with SNGPL:
- Security deposit: Rs 20,000 (refundable).
- Service line: Rs 1,500.
- Urgent fee: Rs 25,000.
- Total: Rs 46,500, of which Rs 26,500 is not refundable.
RLNG tariff for new connections
Since 2025 the government has allowed new domestic connections only on imported gas (RLNG) rates, after years of a ban on new connections. Applicants sign an affidavit accepting the RLNG tariff, which is higher than the tariff for existing system gas users. Existing consumers are not moved to RLNG.

Gas connection questions
What is the Sui gas new connection fee in 2026?
SNGPL: Rs 20,000 security deposit plus Rs 1,500 service line for a house up to 10 marla, Rs 21,500 in all, or Rs 23,000 above 10 marla. SSGC: Rs 22,725 up to 10 marlas in Sindh and Rs 21,725 in Balochistan, including tax and stamp duty.
How much is the SNGPL urgent fee?
Rs 25,000, paid on top of the normal charges to get the connection on the fast track. A 10 marla house pays Rs 46,500 in total on the urgent route. The urgent fee is not refunded.
Is the gas security deposit refundable?
Yes. The Rs 20,000 security deposit is refundable when the connection is permanently removed, subject to clearing any dues. The service line or connection charges, tax, stamp duty and urgent fee are not refundable.
Why does SSGC cost more in Sindh than in Balochistan?
Because of stamp duty. SSGC's schedule adds Rs 1,000 stamp duty in Sindh. The deposit, connection charges and sales tax are the same in both provinces.
Are new gas connections on RLNG rates?
Yes. New domestic connections are now given on the RLNG tariff, which is higher than the system gas tariff of existing consumers. Applicants accept this in writing when they apply.
