A normal 36 page e-passport valid for 10 years costs Rs 13,500 in Pakistan, and the urgent one costs Rs 22,500. The older machine readable passport (MRP) is cheaper, Rs 4,500 for 36 pages and 5 years, but news reports say new MRPs stop after 14 October 2026.

Fast track passport fee
Fast track is for the MRP only. DGIP set these fees from 8 May 2024 and aims to deliver in about 2 working days, against 5 for urgent and 21 for normal.

Courier time is on top of the processing time. Fees are paid by bank challan or online before biometrics.
Worked example: a family of four
Two parents want 10 year e-passports and their two children, aged 9 and 13, need passports too. All normal, 36 pages.

Children under 15 can only get a 5 year passport, so the calculator switches them to the 5 year fee. With MRPs instead, the same family would pay Rs 6,700 x 2 plus Rs 4,500 x 2, which is Rs 22,400, if they apply before the MRP stops.
Lost passport fee
DGIP charges double the normal fee the first time a passport is lost and four times the fee the second time. A third loss is referred to DGIP headquarters.
Example: a lost 36 page, 5 year MRP replaced on urgent. The urgent fee is Rs 7,500, so the first loss costs Rs 15,000. A second loss of a 10 year normal MRP costs Rs 6,700 x 4, which is Rs 26,800.
Renewal, children and overseas Pakistanis
Passport renewal fee
There is no separate renewal fee. You pay the fee for the new passport you choose, and you can renew before the old one expires. Online renewal is open to Pakistanis at home and abroad.
Children
Under 15, the passport is valid for 5 years only. From age 10 a child needs an updated B-form with fingerprints and photograph; under 10, a B-form or FRC is accepted. See the B-form fee if you still need one.
Abroad
Pakistani missions charge in local currency or US dollars. The Consulate General in Los Angeles lists these fees for the USA:

MRP ending: several news outlets reported on 24 to 29 September 2026 that DGIP will stop issuing new machine readable passports from 15 October 2026. Existing MRPs stay valid until they expire. We have not seen the DGIP notification itself, so the MRP option stays in the calculator until that date. NADRA passport counters and executive offices may add their own service charge, which is not included here.

Is the passport renewal fee different from a new passport?
No. Renewal and modification cost the same as a new passport of the same type, pages, validity and speed. Only a lost passport costs more: twice the fee the first time and four times the second time.
What does the executive passport office charge?
Executive offices use the same DGIP fee schedule, including fast track for the MRP (Rs 12,500 for 36 pages and 5 years). Some counters run with NADRA add a service charge, which is paid at the counter and is not part of the DGIP fee.
Can I get a 100 page e-passport?
No. DGIP offers the e-passport in 36 and 72 pages only. The 100 page option exists only for the MRP, at Rs 9,000 normal or Rs 18,000 urgent for 5 years.
