An urgent e-passport costs Rs 15,000 for 36 pages and 5 years, and Rs 22,500 for 36 pages and 10 years. With 72 pages it costs Rs 27,000 or Rs 40,500. DGIP aims to deliver an urgent passport in 5 working days, against 21 for normal.

Every new passport is now an e-passport, and DGIP lists two speeds for it: normal and urgent. The calculator starts on urgent; change the pages, validity or application type above.

Urgent passport fee against normal

DGIP fees at passport offices in Pakistan, with the extra you pay for urgent processing:

e-PassportNormal (21 days)Urgent (5 days)Extra for urgent
36 pages, 5 yearsRs 9,000Rs 15,000Rs 6,000
36 pages, 10 yearsRs 13,500Rs 22,500Rs 9,000
72 pages, 5 yearsRs 16,500Rs 27,000Rs 10,500
72 pages, 10 yearsRs 24,750Rs 40,500Rs 15,750

There is no 100 page e-passport. Courier time to remote areas and to missions abroad comes on top of the working days.

Is there anything faster than urgent?

No. DGIP's priority table lists only urgent (5 working days) and normal (21 working days). Fast track, which aimed at about 2 working days, belonged to the machine readable passport and is not offered for the e-passport. A one day or two day passport is not on offer.

The office you choose still matters. Passport processing runs round the clock at RPO G-10/4 Islamabad, RPO Garden Town Lahore, RPO Awami Markaz Karachi and the NADRA Mega Centres at Egerton Road in Lahore and at Nazimabad and Siemens Chowrangi in Karachi. Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Quetta and several other offices run morning and evening shifts.

Lost passport on urgent

DGIP charges double the fee the first time a passport is lost and four times the second time. On urgent the totals climb quickly:

Lost passport, urgent 36 pages, 5 years 36 pages, 10 years
First loss Rs 30,000 Rs 45,000
Second loss Rs 60,000 Rs 90,000

Bring a police report that names the lost passport's number. A third loss is referred to DGIP headquarters in Islamabad.

Worked examples

A 10 year passport for a job offer abroad. 36 pages on urgent costs Rs 22,500, against Rs 13,500 on normal. The higher fee buys delivery in about 5 working days instead of 21.

A child of 12 travelling with the family. Under 15 the passport is valid for 5 years only, so the urgent fee is Rs 15,000 even if 10 years is picked.

A frequent traveller. 72 pages, 10 years, urgent: Rs 40,500.

Renewing online from Pakistan. DGIP's portal adds a service charge of Rs 1,000, so 36 pages, 10 years, urgent comes to Rs 23,500. Overseas Pakistanis who applied online on normal can switch the application to urgent by paying the difference online. Office and online prices sit side by side under passport renewal fee.

Before you pay for urgent

  • A valid CNIC. DGIP asks adults for an original valid CNIC or NICOP. If yours has expired, renew it first; the urgent ID card fee shows how fast NADRA can do it.
  • Children. From age 10, an updated B-form (CRC) with fingerprints and photograph, or a Juvenile Card. Under 10, a B-form or an FRC. One parent comes along with both parents' CNICs or passports.
  • Government employees need a no objection certificate from their department.
  • Payment. At the office the fee is paid through a QR code after the interview, not in advance.
