A US visit visa (B1/B2) costs $185 for a Pakistani applicant, the same as an F-1 student or J-1 exchange visa. Petition-based work visas such as H-1B and L-1 cost $205. Pakistan has no reciprocity fee for these visas, so there is nothing extra to pay when the visa is issued, apart from the new $250 visa integrity fee where it is being collected.

The reciprocity fee for Pakistan is none for all of these visas. Children pay the same MRV fee as adults.
The $250 visa integrity fee
The visa integrity fee was created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which became law on 4 July 2025. It is at least $250 for every nonimmigrant visa that is issued, and rises with US inflation each year. It is paid only when the visa is approved, not when you apply, so a refused applicant does not pay it.
The law allows the fee to be reimbursed after the trip if the visa holder kept to the visa conditions and left the US on time, or extended or changed status lawfully. The US government has not yet opened a way to claim it back.
The State Department's fee schedule did not include the integrity fee on 30 September 2026, and posts around the world have started collecting it at different times. Ask at your interview or check your appointment page whether it is being charged in Pakistan.

Without the integrity fee the family pays $740, about Rs 205,069 at Rs 277.12 per dollar (State Bank rate of 29 September 2026). With it the total is about Rs 482,189.
An F-1 student
A student admitted to a US university pays the $350 SEVIS fee online before the interview, then the $185 MRV fee, a total of $535. If the visa is issued and the integrity fee is collected, the total becomes $785. A spouse or child applying as F-2 pays the MRV fee but no SEVIS fee.
How and when you pay
The MRV fee is paid through the official US visa appointment service for Pakistan before you book an interview. The receipt is valid for 365 days, so you can schedule within a year of paying. The fee is not refunded if the visa is refused, and it cannot be moved to another person.
The SEVIS I-901 fee is paid online to the Department of Homeland Security, by card, at least three business days before the interview. The school or sponsor gives you the SEVIS ID on the I-20 or DS-2019.
The fee for a J-1 exchange visitor on a US government sponsored programme, such as Fulbright, is waived, and the SEVIS fee for these programmes is nil.
Fees are set in dollars. The rupee amount depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay, so enter your bank's rate above for a closer figure. Courier or document delivery charges, photos and travel to the interview in Islamabad or Karachi are not included.
