A Canada visit visa costs C$100 per person, and most applicants also pay C$85 for biometrics, so one adult pays C$185. A family applying together pays no more than C$500 in visa fees and C$170 in biometrics, however many people are included. A study permit costs C$150 and a work permit C$155.

The family maximum for visitor visas applies when 5 or more family members apply together. The biometrics maximum applies to 2 or more family members applying at the same time.
Biometrics: who pays and when
Biometrics means fingerprints and a photo taken at a visa application centre. In Pakistan, VFS Global runs the centres for Canada. The C$85 fee is paid to IRCC with the application and covers the appointment itself, so the centre does not charge a separate fee for taking them.
- Children under 14 and applicants aged 80 or over do not give biometrics for a visitor visa, study permit or work permit.
- Biometrics stay valid for 10 years. If you gave them for an earlier Canadian application in that time, you do not pay again.
- A family of two or more eligible people applying at the same time pays at most C$170.
After paying, you get a biometrics instruction letter. Book the VFS appointment and give biometrics within 30 days of that letter.

A family of five on visitor visas
Two parents and three children aged 12, 9 and 6 apply together.

At Rs 195.16 per Canadian dollar, the rate of 30 September 2026, that is about Rs 130,757. Five visas at C$100 already reach the C$500 cap, so a sixth family member applying with them would add no visa fee and, with the biometrics cap already reached, no biometrics fee either.
A student and spouse
A student pays C$150 for the study permit and C$85 for biometrics, C$235. A spouse applying for an open work permit at the same time pays C$155 plus the C$100 open work permit holder fee. Their biometrics together are capped at C$170, so the two applications cost C$150 + C$255 + C$170 = C$575.
Parents on a super visa
The super visa costs the same C$100 per person as a visitor visa, so two parents pay C$200 plus C$170 biometrics, C$370. The super visa also needs Canadian medical insurance and an immigration medical exam, which are paid separately.

None of these are required. Passport return by courier is useful if you live far from the centre where you gave biometrics.
IRCC fees are paid online by card in Canadian dollars when you submit the application, so the rupee amount follows your bank's rate. They are not refunded once processing has started, even if the application is refused. Medical exams, police certificates and HEC or MOFA attestation of documents cost extra.
