At FAST-NUCES you get a letter grade for each course, and each letter has a fixed point value: A is 4.00, A- is 3.67, B+ is 3.33 and so on down to D at 1.00. Your GPA is those points weighted by credit hours. Pick your letter for each course and the calculator does the maths.
There is no marks box here on purpose. FAST does not publish a marks-to-letter table, so any calculator that turns 78 marks into a grade for FAST is guessing.
How FAST grading works
The Academic Rules Handbook 2025 lists the grade points for each letter but gives no marks ranges. Your instructor awards letters on overall performance. In practice this is often relative grading, where your grade depends on how the class did as well as on your own marks.
Semester work carries 50% of a course and the final exam the other 50%. D is the lowest passing grade. FA means fail due to short attendance and counts as a fail.
Plus and minus grades matter
FAST uses the full plus and minus scale, so steps are one third of a point. A+ and A both give 4.00, so an A+ does not lift your GPA above an A. The gap from B+ (3.33) to B (3.00) is the same as from B to B- (2.67).

Worked example: a 13 credit hour semester
A typical FAST semester has four 3-credit courses and a 1-credit lab.

GPA = 40.99 ÷ 13 = 3.15.
Notice how little the lab moves things. It is only 1 credit hour. If the C+ in Course 4 had been a B instead, quality points would rise to 43.00 and the GPA to 3.31. One step on a 3-credit course is worth far more than an A in a lab.

How is GPA calculated at FAST NUCES?
Multiply the grade points of each course by its credit hours, add these up, and divide by the total credit hours of the semester. For CGPA, do the same across every semester. FAST uses A 4.00, A- 3.67, B+ 3.33, B 3.00 and so on down to D 1.00, with F at zero.
Does FAST use relative grading?
The handbook gives letters and their points but no fixed marks ranges. Letters are awarded by the instructor on overall performance, and in many courses that works as relative grading. So the same 75 marks could be a B+ in one class and an A- in another. This is why the calculator takes letters, not marks.
Is A+ worth more than A at FAST?
No. Both A+ and A carry 4.00 grade points at FAST-NUCES. An A+ looks better on the transcript but does not raise your GPA above what an A gives.
What CGPA do I need to graduate from FAST?
