Silver value = weight in tola × silver rate per tola × purity. The Sarafa association's silver rate on 28 September 2026 was Rs 6,578 per tola, which is Rs 5,640 per 10 grams and Rs 563.97 per gram. Silver rates change every day, so type the rate your jeweller quotes today in the rate box.
The calculator treats the quoted rate as the price of fine (999) silver. For 925 sterling silver it takes 92.5% of that rate. Add making charges if you are buying a finished piece.
How the silver rate is quoted in Pakistan
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association announces a silver (chandi) rate each working day, per tola and per 10 grams, along with the gold rate. The two are the same price in different units:
- Rate per 10 grams = rate per tola × 10 ÷ 11.6638
- Rate per gram = rate per tola ÷ 11.6638
- Rate per kilogram = rate per gram × 1,000
On 28 September 2026 the rate was Rs 6,578 per tola. Worked out exactly, that is Rs 5,639.7 per 10 grams; newspapers reported Rs 5,639. The daily rate does not state a purity, and shops add their own margin, so the rate you are offered can differ.

Silver purity: 999, 925 and others
Silver purity is written in parts per thousand.

Local jewellery that is not hallmarked may be of any purity. If a jeweller tests it at, say, 85%, choose "Other purity" and type 85.
Worked example: a 925 silver bracelet
A sterling bracelet weighs 50 grams. The fine silver rate is Rs 6,578 per tola (28 September 2026), and the shop charges 20% for making. The 20% is only an illustration.
- Weight in tola: 50 ÷ 11.6638 = 4.2868 tola
- 925 rate: 6,578 × 0.925 = Rs 6,085 per tola
- Silver value: 4.2868 × 6,084.65 = Rs 26,083
- Making at 20%: Rs 5,217
- Total: Rs 31,300
When you sell the same bracelet back, expect the silver value at most, less any deduction the jeweller makes. Making charges are not returned.
Weights in tola, masha and ratti

Silver rate questions
How is the silver price per tola worked out?
Multiply the weight in tola by the rate per tola. For a purity below 999, multiply by the purity too, such as 0.925 for sterling. At Rs 6,578 per tola, 5 tola of fine silver is Rs 32,890 and 5 tola of 925 silver is Rs 30,423.
What is the silver rate per gram if the tola rate is known?
Divide the tola rate by 11.6638. At Rs 6,578 per tola that is Rs 563.97 per gram, and Rs 5,639.7 per 10 grams. The calculator shows all three for any rate you type.
Is the Sarafa silver rate for 925 or 999 silver?
The association's daily rate does not state a purity. It is usually read as the rate for pure (fine) silver, which is how this calculator uses it. Sterling 925 jewellery is then worth 92.5% of that rate, before making charges.
How much is 52.5 tola of silver worth?

Why is the shop price higher than the silver rate?
The daily rate is for the metal. Finished items carry making charges for design and labour, and shops add their own margin. Ask for the weight, the purity and the making charge separately, then check the total here.
