From 1 October to 31 December 2026 there are 64 working days in a Monday to Friday office, after taking off weekends, Iqbal Day and 25 December. In a Monday to Saturday office there are 77. Enter your own dates, choose your working week, and the calculator lists every holiday it takes off.

Five-day or six-day week
Federal and provincial government offices mostly work Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off. Many schools, banks' back offices, factories and shops work Monday to Saturday, with only Sunday off. Choose the week that matches your office. Friday is a normal working day in Pakistan, with a longer midday break for Jumu'ah prayers.
In 2026 a 5-day office has 248 working days after holidays and a 6-day office has 299. In 2027, on our estimated holiday dates, the figures are 249 and 298.

These are the federal gazetted holidays the calculator uses, with the Islamic holidays on the dates the Cabinet Division finally notified. A holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday does not reduce the working days of an office that is already closed that day.

Expected public holidays 2027
The Cabinet Division usually issues the next year's list in December or January. Until then we use the fixed national days and estimate the Islamic holidays from the Umm al-Qura calendar, one day later, which matched Pakistan's moon sighting for Ashura and Eid Milad un Nabi in 2026.

Eid and Ashura holidays are subject to moon sighting and the number of days is set by the Prime Minister each time. We will update these dates when they are notified.
What the count includes
- Both dates count. From Monday 5 October to Friday 9 October 2026 is 5 working days.
- Weekends come off first. Then holidays that fall on a working day.
- Provincial and local holidays are not included. Provinces can add their own, such as a local holiday for an urs or a by-election. Take those off yourself.
- 26 December is a holiday only for Christian employees. Tick the box if it applies to you.

Working days questions
How many working days are there in 2026 in Pakistan?
248 for a Monday to Friday office and 299 for a Monday to Saturday office, after the federal public holidays. There are 261 weekdays in 2026 before holidays. Thirteen holidays fell on Monday to Friday, including Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Azha and Ashura.
How do I calculate working days between two dates?
Count the calendar days, take off the weekend days, then take off public holidays that fall on working days. The calculator does all three and lists the holidays. In Excel, =NETWORKDAYS(start,end,holidays) does the same for a Monday to Friday week.
Are Eid holidays fixed in advance?
No. The yearly list gives expected dates, and the Cabinet Division confirms the Eid and Ashura holidays a few days before, after the moon sighting. In 2026 the list showed Eid ul Fitr on 21 to 23 March, and the final notice gave 20 and 21 March.
How many working days are in a month?
About 20 to 23 in a 5-day week and 24 to 27 in a 6-day week, before holidays. Wage laws in Pakistan work a month as 26 working days when they turn a monthly wage into a daily rate.
