ITU Lahore's merit for BS Computer Science and BS Artificial Intelligence is 50% test and 50% academics. Academics split into 35% Intermediate and 15% Matric. So 60 in the test, 470/550 in Part I and 1,000/1,100 in Matric gives 73.5455%.
ITU's norms page refers to ECAT 2024, so it may describe the 2025 intake. The 2026 rule could differ. Check ITU's current admission notice.
The ITU formula for CS and AI
Merit = (test ÷ total × 50) + (Intermediate ÷ total × 35) + (Matric ÷ total × 15)
The test can be the ITU admission test, SAT-I or USAT. For Intermediate, ITU accepts Part I, full Intermediate or A level.
Worked example
Test 60 out of 100, Intermediate Part I 470 out of 550, Matric 1,000 out of 1,100.
- Test: 60 ÷ 100 × 50 = 30.0000
- Intermediate: 470 ÷ 550 × 35 = 29.9091
- Matric: 1,000 ÷ 1,100 × 15 = 13.6364
- Merit: 73.5455%

ITU publishes an academic and test split for other programmes, but only breaks "academic" into Matric and Intermediate for CS and AI.

Year uncertainty. ITU's admission norms page mentions ECAT 2024, so it may be from the 2025 cycle. We have not seen a 2026 version. If ITU publishes a new split, the calculator will be updated. We do not publish closing merits.
ITU merit questions
How is ITU merit calculated for BS Computer Science?
ITU gives 50% to the admission test (or SAT-I or USAT), 35% to Intermediate and 15% to Matric. For 60/100, 470/550 and 1,000/1,100 the merit is 30 + 29.9091 + 13.6364 = 73.5455%. The same rule applies to BS Artificial Intelligence.
Does ITU accept SAT or USAT?
Yes. For BS CS and BS AI, ITU's norms list the ITU admission test, SAT-I or USAT for the 50% test part. Enter whichever score you submit as a percentage of that test's total. For engineering programmes ITU also accepts ECAT and NTS.
Is this the 2026 ITU formula?
Possibly not. ITU's admission page refers to ECAT 2024, which suggests it was written for the 2025 intake. We have not found a newer version. Treat the result as an estimate and check ITU's 2026 admission notice.
What if I only have O level results?
ITU uses 35% academics and 65% test for CS and AI candidates with O level only or with A level results awaited. The split of that 35% is not published, so enter your O level IBCC percentage as the academic part in the general calculator.
