For MBBS and BDS in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa public colleges, your aggregate is 50% of your MDCAT percentage, 40% of your FSc percentage and 10% of your Matric percentage, rounded to five decimal places. MDCAT 2026 is out of 180. KMU's BS allied health programmes use a different split: KMU-CAT 40%, FSc 50%, Matric 10%.

The KP Health Department's 2026-27 MBBS and BDS policy was not on KMU's admission site when we checked on 29 September 2026. KMU held MDCAT 2026 on 20 September 2026 and has posted the result cards and answer key. The 50/40/10 split matches the PM&DC Admissions Regulations 2025, which apply in every province, so we do not expect it to change for 2026-27. We will update this page when the new policy is out.
Worked example from the KP policy
The KP Admission Policy 2025-26 gives this example on page 25: SSC 80%, FSc 80%, MDCAT 60%.

A 2026 example with marks
MDCAT 140 out of 180, FSc 980 out of 1,100, Matric 1,020 out of 1,100.
- MDCAT: 140 ÷ 180 × 50 = 38.88889
- FSc: 980 ÷ 1,100 × 40 = 35.63636
- Matric: 1,020 ÷ 1,100 × 10 = 9.27273
- Aggregate: 83.79798%
KMU keeps five decimal places because thousands of candidates sit within a fraction of a mark of each other.
MDCAT marks needed for a target aggregate
Same student: FSc 980 out of 1,100 and Matric 1,020 out of 1,100 give 44.90909 points before MDCAT. Marks are out of 180.

Each MDCAT mark is worth 0.27778 points, so one extra correct answer outweighs about 7.6 FSc marks. You also need at least 99 (55%) for MBBS or 90 (50%) for BDS just to be eligible.
KMU BS allied health (KMU-CAT)
KMU's BS portal for session 2026-27 uses SSC 10%, HSSC 50% and entrance test 40%. The test is KMU-CAT 2026: 100 MCQs, 100 marks, no negative marking, 90 minutes, based on the PMDC syllabus. It is held on 26 July, 4 October and 8 November 2026 and a score is valid for one year.
KMU-CAT covers Paramedics, Public Health, Nursing, DPT, Pharm-D, BS OT, BS SLP, BS Audiology, BS P&O, BS Vision Sciences and BS Clinical Psychology.
Example: KMU-CAT 72, FSc 900 out of 1,100, Matric 950 out of 1,100 gives 28.8000 + 40.9091 + 8.6364 = 78.3455%. To reach 80% with the same board marks, this student needs 77 in KMU-CAT.
KMU's own calculator accepts FSc totals of 600, 1,100 or 1,200. Enter the total printed on your result card.
KEMU, Punjab and other admitting bodies
King Edward Medical University (KEMU) and the other Punjab public colleges use the Punjab (UHS) MDCAT formula. The split is the same 50/40/10, without KP's five-decimal rule. Use the MDCAT aggregate calculator for Punjab, Sindh and federal colleges. NUMS colleges run their own test; use the NUMS aggregate calculator.
Ties. If two candidates have the same final merit, the KP policy prefers the older candidate, then higher Matric marks, then higher test marks. Eligibility. You need at least 60% in FSc. "Adjusted" FSc marks. The policy's note covers students who passed HSSC in 2021, whose merit uses elective science marks only. If you improved your marks later, your revised total counts. No Hafiz marks are added for MBBS or BDS.
KMU aggregate questions
How is the KMU aggregate calculated for MBBS?
Take MDCAT ÷ 180 × 50, FSc ÷ FSc total × 40 and Matric ÷ Matric total × 10, then add them and round to five decimals. For 140, 980 and 1,020 the result is 38.88889 + 35.63636 + 9.27273 = 83.79798%.
What MDCAT score do I need for KMU?
There is no fixed figure. Closing merit changes every year with seats and applicants. With FSc 980 and Matric 1,020 out of 1,100, you need 145 in MDCAT for 85% and 163 for 90%. Put your own marks and a target in the calculator.
Why does KMU use five decimal places?
The KP Admission Policy says the final percentage is rounded to five decimal points. Candidates are often separated by less than 0.001%, so the extra digits decide places on the merit list. Ties that remain go to the older candidate.
Is the KMU formula different from the UHS formula?
The weights are the same: 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc, 10% Matric. KP adds five-decimal rounding and its own tie-break rules. Punjab applicants should use the MDCAT calculator for UHS colleges, including KEMU.
What is the merit formula for KMU BS programmes?
For session 2026-27: KMU-CAT 40%, HSSC 50% and SSC 10%. KMU-CAT is 100 MCQs with no negative marking. A student with 72 in KMU-CAT, 900 in FSc and 950 in Matric (both out of 1,100) gets 78.3455%.
