NUMS uses the same 50/40/10 weights as the PMDC rule: 50% entrance test, 40% HSSC and 10% SSC. The difference is the test. NUMS runs its own MDCAT, and also accepts a valid MCAT (USA) or UCAT (UK).
The calculator marks the NUMS test out of 150 by default. NUMS has not published the denominator it uses, so check your result card and change the "Out of" box if needed.
The NUMS formula
Aggregate = (test ÷ test total × 50) + (HSSC ÷ HSSC total × 40) + (SSC ÷ SSC total × 10)
The 2025-26 NUMS combined advertisement for centralised MBBS and BDS admissions lists:

Pass marks are 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS. There is no Hafiz-e-Quran bonus in the advert.
The test total problem
The NUMS test has two papers. Paper I has 150 academic MCQs: Biology 55, Chemistry 40, Physics 40 and English 15. Paper II is a 50-item psychological assessment. The most likely reading is that only Paper I counts, so the test is out of 150. Some other calculators divide by 200 instead.
The choice changes the result a lot. The same 120 marks give 40 points out of 150, but only 30 points out of 200. We could not find an official statement, so treat this as unconfirmed.
Worked example
A student scores 120 out of 150 in the NUMS test, 980 out of 1,100 in FSc and 1,020 out of 1,100 in Matric.
- Test: 120 ÷ 150 × 50 = 40.0000
- FSc: 980 ÷ 1,100 × 40 = 35.6364
- Matric: 1,020 ÷ 1,100 × 10 = 9.2727
- Aggregate: 84.9091%
If the test were divided by 200 instead, the same marks would give 74.9091%. That ten-point gap is why you should confirm the total before comparing with any merit list.

How is the NUMS aggregate calculated?
NUMS gives 50% weight to the entrance test, 40% to HSSC (FSc or A level) and 10% to SSC (Matric or O level). Divide each score by its total, multiply by the weight and add. For 120/150, 980/1,100 and 1,020/1,100 that is 40 + 35.6364 + 9.2727 = 84.9091%.
Is the NUMS test out of 150 or 200?
NUMS has not said clearly. Paper I has 150 academic MCQs and Paper II is a 50-item psychological test that is probably not scored the same way. This tool uses 150 by default. If your result card shows a different total, change the "Out of" box.
Can I apply to NUMS with MCAT or UCAT?
Yes. The 2025-26 advert accepts a valid MCAT (USA) or UCAT (UK) score in place of the NUMS test for the 50% test part. A level and 12th grade students also need an IBCC equivalence certificate for their school marks.
Is NUMS aggregate the same as MDCAT aggregate?
The weights are the same 50/40/10. The difference is the test. NUMS colleges use the NUMS entrance test, while provincial public colleges use the PMDC MDCAT out of 180. Use the calculator for the test you actually sat.
