At Punjab University, 85 marks or more is an A worth 4.00, and 50 is the lowest pass (D, 1.00). In between, each grade has one fixed point value, such as 3.70 for 80 to 84 and 3.00 for 70 to 74. Enter your marks, letter grades or grade points and the calculator gives your semester GPA.

How PU grading works
The University of the Punjab semester rules (section 11) give a fixed table with whole-number boundaries. Every mark inside a band gets the same point. That makes PU simpler than universities with per-mark charts, but it also creates cliffs. 84 marks is an A- (3.70) while 85 is an A (4.00).
The bands also narrow in the middle. C+ is 61 to 64, C is only 58 to 60, and C- is 55 to 57. A few marks in this zone move you a full grade.
Pass and degree rules
- A course needs a D, which means 50%.
- Minimum CGPA for a two-year ADP and a four-year BS: 2.00.
- The rules document carries no effective date, so check with your department if your programme has its own notice.

The calculator does not round marks up, so 84.5 is treated as below 85 and gets A-. Ask your department how fractional marks are handled on your result.

GPA = 40.10 ÷ 14 = 2.86.
If your CGPA was 3.10 over 64 credit hours, add 198.40 earlier quality points to 40.10. Divide 238.50 by 78 credit hours for a new CGPA of 3.06.
PU's own percentage figure
PU reports an Overall Percentage Marks (OPM) figure. It is the credit-weighted average of your course marks, not a conversion of CGPA. For this semester: (82×3 + 72×3 + 63×3 + 57×3 + 88×2) ÷ 14 = 998 ÷ 14 = 71.29%.

How to calculate GPA in Punjab University?
Find the grade point for each course from the PU table, multiply it by the course's credit hours, add the results and divide by total credit hours. For example, 40.10 quality points over 14 credit hours gives a GPA of 2.86. The calculator above does this from your marks.
What is the passing percentage at PU?
You need 50% in a course to pass at the University of the Punjab. 50 to 54 marks is a D worth 1.00 point. Below 50 is F with zero points.
What CGPA is required for a degree at Punjab University?
