The University of Narowal grades on its own table, and it is stricter than the HEC style scale in the middle. 85 and above is A+ (4.00), 80 to 84 is A (3.70) and 75 to 79 is B+ (3.40). Lower down, 60 to 64 is C+ at only 2.00 and 55 to 59 is C at 1.50. The pass mark is 50, a D at 1.00.

UON grading system
Section 1.11 of the semester rules in the University of Narowal Prospectus 2026. W (withdraw) and FR (freeze) also carry 0.00.
| Marks (%) | Grade | Grade points |
|---|---|---|
| 85 and above | A+ | 4.00 |
| 80 to 84 | A | 3.70 |
| 75 to 79 | B+ | 3.40 |
| 70 to 74 | B | 3.00 |
| 65 to 69 | B | 2.50 |
| 60 to 64 | C+ | 2.00 |
| 55 to 59 | C | 1.50 |
| 50 to 54 | D | 1.00 |
| Below 50 | F | 0.00 |
The prospectus prints the letter B for two bands: 70 to 74 at 3.00 and 65 to 69 at 2.50. Use the grade points, not the letter, when you check your result.
Worked example: UON semester
| Course | Credit hours | Marks | Grade | Quality points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Course 1 | 3 | 85 | A+ | 12.00 |
| Course 2 | 3 | 79 | B+ | 10.20 |
| Course 3 | 3 | 69 | B | 7.50 |
| Course 4 | 4 | 64 | C+ | 8.00 |
| Course 5 | 3 | 55 | C | 4.50 |
| Total | 16 | 42.20 |
GPA = 42.20 ÷ 16 = 2.64.
On the HEC table the same marks give 2.70, mostly because C+ there is 2.33 and 55 marks is a D+ at 1.30. One more mark in Course 3 (70) would move it from 2.50 to 3.00 and lift this GPA to 2.73.

The CGPA calculator shows how a repeated course changes your cumulative figure.
Questions people ask
How do I calculate my GPA at the University of Narowal?
Find the grade points for each course from the UON table, multiply by the credit hours, add the results and divide by the total credit hours. For example, 79 marks in a 3 credit course is a B+ at 3.40, which gives 10.20 quality points.
Why are there two B grades in the UON table?
The prospectus lists the 65 to 69 band as B with 2.50 points, and the 70 to 74 band as B with 3.00 points. The letters match, but the grade points do not, so a 69 adds half a point less per credit hour than a 70.
What are the passing marks at UON?
50 marks, which is a D at 1.00 grade points. Below 50 the course is F with 0 points and must be repeated when it is next offered. There are no supplementary exams in the semester system.
What is the minimum CGPA at the University of Narowal?
A BS student must keep at least 1.50 in each semester to stay on the rolls and needs 2.00 to complete the degree. MPhil students need 2.00 each semester and 2.50 for the degree, and PhD students need 3.00.
Is an A at UON worth 4.00?
No. At UON only A+ (85 to 100) carries 4.00. An A (80 to 84) is 3.70 and a B+ (75 to 79) is 3.40. Calculators built on the HEC table give 4.00 from 85 and 3.66 for 80 to 84, so check which table a tool uses.
