At the University of Sargodha, every whole mark from 40 to 80 has its own grade point. 80 and above gives 4.00, 79 gives 3.94, 70 gives 3.34, 50 gives 2.00 and 40 gives 1.00. Enter your percentage marks for each course and the calculator reads the UOS chart for you.
One catch: a course still needs 50% to pass. Marks from 40 to 49 carry points on the chart, but they sit below the pass line.
How the UOS GPA chart works
The Undergraduate Semester Regulations 2023 (from Fall 2023) keep the same per-mark points as the 2019 regulations. What changed in 2023 is the letter split: A+, A, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C- and D.
The steps are not all the same size. From 40 to 50 each mark adds 0.10. From 50 to 80 each mark adds roughly 0.06 to 0.07. Above 80 nothing more is added. So pushing a 78 to an 80 gains you 0.13, while pushing an 85 to a 90 gains nothing.
Pass marks and degree rules
- Minimum pass in a course: 50%.
- CGPA needed for the degree: 2.50 (2.00 for a two-year associate degree).
- GPA needed to be promoted after the first semester: 1.75.

The table shows the first and last point in each letter band. The calculator uses the exact figure for every mark, for example 66 is 3.07 and 58 is 2.50. Fractions of a mark are dropped, so 78.6 is read as 78.

Reaching the 2.50 degree line
Say your CGPA is 2.40 after 60 credit hours and your next semester is 15 credit hours. You need 2.50 × 75 = 187.50 quality points in total. You have 144.00, so you need 43.50 from 15 credit hours. That is a semester GPA of 2.90.

What is the UOS GPA for 70 marks?
On the University of Sargodha chart, 70 marks gives 3.34 grade points and a B grade. 75 marks gives 3.67 (B+) and 79 gives 3.94. Anything from 80 up gives the full 4.00.
What CGPA is needed for a degree at University of Sargodha?
The 2023 undergraduate regulations require a CGPA of 2.50 for a four-year degree. For a two-year associate degree the minimum is 2.00. This is higher than many Punjab universities, which set 2.00, so plan early if you are near the line.
Is 45 marks a pass at UOS?
No. The minimum passing mark in a course is 50%. The chart gives 1.50 points for 45 marks and the grade is D, but the course is below the pass line. Check with your department on how a D below 50% is treated for your programme.
How do I calculate my UOS CGPA?
Add the quality points (grade points times credit hours) from every semester, then divide by all your credit hours. In the calculator, open "Add previous semesters", enter your current CGPA and credit hours so far, and add this term's marks.
Can I convert UOS CGPA to percentage?
The UOS rules page used here does not give a conversion formula. For a rough figure many people use the HEC table on our CGPA to percentage page. If a job or admission asks for percentage, ask the university for its own letter.
