Pick a direction, enter the date and the converter gives the matching date with the day of the week. For 1447 and 1448 AH it uses the actual Ruet-e-Hilal decisions for Pakistan, so 1 Ramadan 1447 comes out as Thursday 19 February 2026, not the Saudi date of 18 February.
For dates outside that table the converter uses the Umm al-Qura calendar moved back one day, which is how far Pakistan usually runs behind Saudi Arabia, and the result says so. The Islamic age mode counts your age in lunar years, which is about one year more than your ordinary age for every 33 years.

The result always names the source it used. For a date that matters, such as a nikah, a death or a date of birth on an old document, check the estimate against the date written at the time: a Pakistani date can be one day either side of it.

The converter also checks whether a date exists. Jumadi us Sani 1447 had only 29 days in Pakistan, so if you enter 30 Jumadi us Sani 1447 it tells you there was no such day.
How the Islamic age is worked out
A Hijri year has 354 or 355 days, about 11 days fewer than a solar year. Your Islamic age therefore grows a little faster than your ordinary age.
Example. Someone born on 1 January 2000 was born on about 23 Ramadan 1420 by the Pakistani calendar. On 30 September 2026 (17 Rabi us Sani 1448) they are:
- 26 years, 8 months and 29 days old by the Gregorian calendar
- 27 years, 6 months and 24 days old in Hijri years
Their next Hijri birthday, 23 Ramadan 1448, is expected on Tuesday 2 March 2027.
Fiqh uses Hijri years for questions such as the age of a child for fasting or the year of zakat, which is why some people want this figure. For official forms in Pakistan, such as a CNIC, a job application or an age limit, the Gregorian age is the one that counts.
Converting by hand
For a rough year, AH = (CE minus 622) x 33 / 32. For 2026 that gives (2026 minus 622) x 33 / 32 = 1447.9, and 2026 does run from Rajab 1447 to Rajab 1448. The rule is only good to the year. For the day you need a table of month starts, which is what the converter holds.
To go the other way, CE = AH x 32 / 33 + 622. 1448 x 32 / 33 + 622 = 2026.1, and 1 Muharram 1448 fell in June 2026.

How do I convert an Islamic date to an English date?
Choose Hijri to Gregorian, pick the day and month, type the Hijri year and read the result. Keep the calendar on Pakistan if the date was fixed by moon sighting in Pakistan, such as an Eid or a death anniversary. Switch to Umm al-Qura for a Saudi document or a date fixed in Saudi Arabia.
Why does my old nikah nama show a different Hijri date?
Before 1447 the converter estimates the Pakistani date from the Umm al-Qura calendar minus one day. Pakistan's actual start of a month could be a day either side. The date written at the time, from that month's sighting, is the correct one; use the converter to check the day of the week.
Can I find my Islamic age from my date of birth?
Yes. Choose Islamic age, enter your date of birth and the date you want the age on. The result gives years, months and days in the Hijri calendar, your ordinary age for comparison, and the date of your next Hijri birthday.
Is the Hijri date the same in every country?
No. Countries that follow local sighting, such as Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, often begin months a day after Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Countries that follow calculation or Saudi announcements may be a day earlier. The converter covers the Pakistani and Saudi dates.
