A BS semester of 18 credit hours therefore costs Rs 103,000. The first semester adds the admission charges and the refundable university security, so a new BS student pays Rs 163,000 before hostel or transport.

Credit hours are the ones PIEAS uses in its own worked examples: 18 for an average BS semester, 15 for MS and the 9 credit hour minimum for a regular PhD semester.
PIEAS one-time and semester charges
The university security is refunded after deduction of damages, if any. The admission application fee of Rs 3,500 (Rs 4,000 with the late fee) is paid before the test and is not part of the semester fee.

How a PIEAS semester fee is worked out
Semester fee = credit hours × Rs 4,000 + IT services + university services.
For a BS student taking 18 credit hours that is 18 × Rs 4,000 = Rs 72,000 tuition, plus Rs 15,000 and Rs 16,000, so Rs 103,000. Fewer credit hours lower only the tuition part; the two service charges stay the same.
The optional facilities are billed on top:
- Transport: Rs 25,000 per regular semester.
- Hostel: a monthly room charge. PIEAS multiplies it by 6 months for a semester, so a double room with community bath at Rs 6,750 a month adds Rs 40,500.
The degree, transcript, verification and convocation fee of Rs 20,000 is charged once, near the end of the degree.

15 credit hours at Rs 4,000 is Rs 60,000. With the service charges and one-time charges the first semester is Rs 151,000.

Eight semesters of 18 credit hours, the one-time charges and the degree fee add up to Rs 904,000, or Rs 879,000 once the security comes back.

What is the PIEAS fee per semester?
For a BS student with 18 credit hours it is Rs 103,000: Rs 72,000 tuition plus Rs 15,000 IT services and Rs 16,000 university services. An MS semester of 15 credit hours is Rs 91,000. Hostel and transport are extra if you use them.
How much is PIEAS tuition per credit hour?
Rs 4,000 per credit hour for all academic programmes from Fall 2026. The same rate applies to BS, MS and PhD, so the semester fee changes only with the credit hours you register and the facilities you take.
What does a new PIEAS student pay at admission?
