Punjab: applying at a Police Khidmat Markaz
You can apply at any Police Khidmat Markaz in Punjab, not only the one in your own district. Take:
- original CNIC (or B-form) and a photocopy
- original passport and a photocopy
- an affidavit
- if someone else applies for you, your authority letter and a photograph

Islamabad: what the Capital Police ask for
Islamabad Police charge Rs 1,000 at the counter and take 3 working days. You need your original CNIC and passport, plus proof that you live in Islamabad: an allotment letter, a rent agreement, or a hostel letter on the institution's letterhead. If the address on your CNIC is outside Islamabad, add an affidavit.

Applying from abroad
If you are already overseas, a blood relative such as your father, mother, brother or sister applies on your behalf at the same fee. The police want your authority letter: in Punjab stamped by the Pakistani embassy or attested by two respectable persons, in Islamabad stamped by the embassy or attested by a gazetted officer. Islamabad also asks for your recent photograph, an affidavit giving how long you have been abroad, and a copy of the passport page with your last exit stamp.

Worked examples
Driver going to the UAE, applying in Multan. Police fee Rs 350. The UAE is outside the Apostille Convention, so the certificate gets ordinary MOFA attestation, which carries no MOFA fee. Total Rs 350 plus the cost of the affidavit.
Nurse in Rawalpindi applying for a job in the UK. The UK is in the Hague Apostille Convention, so she chooses an apostille: Rs 350 + Rs 3,000 = Rs 3,350.
