NUTECH gives its own entry test 70% of the merit, complete HSSC (or A level or DAE) 20% and SSC or O level 10%. These are the Fall 2026 weights on NUTECH's admissions page. International students can use SAT subject scores in place of the entry test.

The NUTECH formula
Merit = (test ÷ test total × 70) + (HSSC ÷ HSSC total × 20) + (SSC ÷ SSC total × 10)

The HSSC row says "complete", so use full Intermediate marks (Part I and II together), not Part I alone. That differs from UET, QAU and GCU, which use Part I.
Worked example
A student scores 65% in the NUTECH test, 950 out of 1,100 in HSSC and 1,000 out of 1,100 in SSC.
- Test: 65 ÷ 100 × 70 = 45.5000
- HSSC: 950 ÷ 1,100 × 20 = 17.2727
- SSC: 1,000 ÷ 1,100 × 10 = 9.0909
- Merit: 71.8636%
With the test at 70%, a strong paper matters far more than board marks. Raising the test from 65% to 75% adds 7 merit points. Raising HSSC by 100 marks adds only 1.8182.
Test percentage needed for a target merit
Same student: HSSC 950 and SSC 1,000 (both out of 1,100) give 26.3636 points before the test. The test is shown out of 100.

If your result shows marks out of a larger total, multiply the percentage by that total. For example 70% of a 200-mark paper is 140.

How is the NUTECH aggregate calculated?
Entry test 70%, complete HSSC 20% and SSC 10%. A student with 65% in the test, 950 out of 1,100 in HSSC and 1,000 out of 1,100 in SSC gets 45.5 + 17.2727 + 9.0909 = 71.8636%.
Does NUTECH use FSc Part I or full FSc?
The Fall 2026 admissions page says HSSC, A level or DAE "(Complete)", so full Intermediate marks. If you apply before your Part II result, check NUTECH's notice on how provisional merit is handled.
Is there negative marking in the NUTECH test?

What test score do I need for NUTECH?
No fixed pass figure is given in the merit rule. With HSSC 950 and SSC 1,000 out of 1,100, you need 63% in the test for a 70% merit and 70% for 75%. Enter your own marks and target above.
