The scales are the Basic Pay Scales 2026 in the Finance Division order of 21 July 2026, which covers civil employees of the federal government paid from civil and defence estimates. Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adopted the same scales and the same 7% allowance from 1 July 2026 through their own Finance Department notifications. Balochistan announced the same 7% in its budget; check your slip for the scale your office applies. Set your stage in the calculator; it also shows your basic pay after the next increment.

Up to 30 June 2026 the increment was Rs 1,740; the middle column shows the 2022 basic pay at the same stage.

Worked example: the 1 December 2026 increment at stage 6

A federal BPS-14 employee in Islamabad is at stage 6, a basic pay of Rs 39,600. Before the increment:

  • ARA-2026 Rs 2,772, house rent Rs 3,321, conveyance Rs 4,284, medical Rs 1,500
  • Gross pay Rs 51,477; income tax Rs 0, because taxable pay of Rs 49,977 a month stays just under Rs 600,000 a year
  • Take-home pay Rs 46,617

On 1 December 2026 the increment of Rs 2,090 lifts basic pay to Rs 41,690 and ARA-2026 to Rs 2,918:

  • Gross pay Rs 53,713, up Rs 2,236
  • Taxable pay now passes the tax-free limit, so income tax of Rs 22 a month starts
  • Take-home pay Rs 48,831, up Rs 2,214

House rent, conveyance and medical allowance do not move with an increment. Someone who joined after 1 June gets the first increment a year later; the annual increment calculator works out the date.
