HAZECO is the Hazara Electric Supply Company. It serves Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur and the Hazara division. It bills homes on the same national tariff as every other company.
Worked example: 150 units, protected, 1 kW
Protected homes get one previous slab. The first 100 units are at Rs 10.54 and the next 50 at Rs 13.01. On a 1 kW load the fixed charge is Rs 300 for the 101 to 200 slab.

That is Rs 22.86 per unit all in. On a 2 kW load the bill would be Rs 3,783.42, because the fixed charge doubles to Rs 600.
Why sanctioned load matters for small bills
Many homes in the hill districts use modest amounts of electricity. For them the fixed charge is a large share of the bill.
At 150 protected units:
- 1 kW load: fixed charge Rs 300, bill Rs 3,429.42
- 2 kW load: fixed charge Rs 600, bill Rs 3,783.42

Electricity duty in Hazara
The Hazara division is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The federal government said in July 2025 that it would stop collecting electricity duty through bills, and KP asked for collection to continue. No 2026 notice settling this was found.
Check your HAZECO bill. If there is no electricity duty line, untick the duty box. For a small protected bill the difference is about Rs 30 to Rs 40.
Reading your HAZECO bill
You need the units consumed for the month and your sanctioned load in kW. Winter heating can push units up. If any month goes over 200, a protected home loses that status for about six months, so the calculator switches to unprotected rates above 200 units.

HAZECO homes pay the February 2026 NEPRA uniform rates. Protected users pay Rs 10.54 for the first 100 units and Rs 13.01 for the next 100. Unprotected users pay Rs 22.44 to Rs 47.20 depending on the slab.
Is the HAZECO tariff different from PESCO?

Do lifeline users in Hazara pay the fuel adjustment?
No. NEPRA's fuel and quarterly adjustment decisions exclude lifeline consumers. Lifeline homes also pay no fixed charge. They still pay GST and, where charged, electricity duty.
