Type in your PESCO units and sanctioned load. On September 2026 rates, 400 units for an unprotected 2 kW home comes to about Rs 21,168. At 401 units the estimate rises to about Rs 22,651.
PESCO is the Peshawar Electric Supply Company. It serves Peshawar and most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Like every company, it bills homes on the national uniform tariff notified in February 2026.
Worked example: 400 units, unprotected, 2 kW
400 units sits at the top of the 301 to 400 slab, so every unit is Rs 36.46.

The bill is still under Rs 25,000, so there is no income tax even for a non-filer. That changes at about 445 units.
Electricity duty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Electricity duty is a provincial charge, historically 1.5% on homes. In July 2025 the federal Power Division said it would stop collecting it through bills. The KP government objected and asked for collection to continue.
We have not found a 2026 notice confirming what PESCO now charges. Look for an "electricity duty" line on your bill. If there is none, untick the box. At 400 units that brings the estimate to Rs 20,894.26.
PESCO unit price and the 400 unit line
PESCO rates for homes range from Rs 10.54 (protected, first 100 units) to Rs 47.20 (unprotected, above 700). The full table is on the unit price page.
Going from 400 to 401 units adds Rs 1,482.45. Every unit moves from Rs 36.46 to Rs 38.95, and the fixed charge goes from Rs 400 to Rs 500 per kW. In winter, electric heaters can push a home past this line quickly.

The calculator needs the units consumed for the month and the sanctioned load in kW, both printed on the bill. If the fuel or quarterly adjustment per unit on your bill is different, change them in the adjustments section. Meter rent, if shown, can go in the meter rent box.

PESCO homes pay the February 2026 NEPRA uniform rates: Rs 10.54 and Rs 13.01 for protected users and Rs 22.44 to Rs 47.20 for unprotected users. After adjustments and taxes, 400 unprotected units cost about Rs 52.92 per unit.
How much is a 400 unit PESCO bill?

Does PESCO charge electricity duty on homes?
This is unsettled. The federal government said in 2025 it would stop collecting duty through bills, and KP objected. Your bill is the only reliable guide. Untick the duty box if the line is missing.
Is PESCO cheaper than HAZECO or TESCO?
No. HAZECO and TESCO also serve Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and all three charge the same national tariff and adjustments. The difference between bills comes from units, load and consumer type.
