IESCO is the Islamabad Electric Supply Company. It serves Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal. Its area spans the federal capital and parts of Punjab, which matters for electricity duty.
IESCO unit price
IESCO uses the national uniform tariff. Protected homes pay Rs 10.54 and Rs 13.01 per unit. Unprotected homes pay Rs 22.44 up to 100 units, Rs 28.91 from 101 to 200, Rs 33.10 from 201 to 300, and more above that.
Unprotected homes pay one rate on all units. So an IESCO home at 200 units pays Rs 28.91 on every unit, and at 201 units pays Rs 33.10 on every unit. See all slabs on the unit price page.

Now compare the neighbours:
- Protected at 200 units: Rs 4,907.17. The protected home pays less than half.
- Unprotected at 201 units: Rs 10,179.89. One extra unit adds Rs 1,168.21, because all 201 units move to the Rs 33.10 slab and fixed charges rise from Rs 300 to Rs 350 per kW.
If your bill is close to 200, the last few units are the most expensive units you will use all month.
Electricity duty in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Electricity duty is a provincial levy. Historically it was 1.5% on homes in both Islamabad and Punjab. In July 2025 the federal Power Division said it would stop collecting duty through bills, and Punjab later exempted homes by law.
We have not found an official 2026 notice that settles this for IESCO homes. Look at your bill. If there is no "electricity duty" line, untick the duty box in the calculator. At 200 units it makes a difference of about Rs 110.
Reading your IESCO bill
Use the monthly units consumed, not the running meter reading. Your sanctioned load in kW is shown with the connection details. If the bill lists the FPA and QTA per unit, copy them into the adjustment boxes for a closer match.
If your bill covers more days than usual, the units will be higher and may push you into the next slab. That is a meter reading issue, not a tariff change.

What is the IESCO unit price today?
IESCO homes pay the February 2026 NEPRA rates: Rs 10.54 and Rs 13.01 for protected users, and Rs 22.44 to Rs 47.20 for unprotected users. With September 2026 adjustments and taxes, an unprotected 200 unit bill works out at about Rs 45 per unit.
How much is a 200 unit IESCO bill?
About Rs 9,012 for an unprotected home with 2 kW load, and about Rs 4,907 for a protected home, at September 2026 rates with duty included. The protected figure applies only if every one of your last six bills was 200 units or less.
Do Islamabad homes pay electricity duty?
It is not clear from official sources. The federal government announced in July 2025 that duty would no longer be collected through bills, but 2026 bills in the region have still shown it. Your own bill is the only reliable guide, so match the duty box to it.
Is the IESCO tariff the same as LESCO?
Yes. Since February 2026 all government distribution companies and K-Electric charge one uniform tariff. The LESCO bill calculator and this one give the same answer for the same inputs.
