UMT grades on a relative basis, so the grade you get depends on how the class performed, not on a fixed mark. That means you cannot turn UMT marks into a GPA with a table. Pick the letter grade from your result for each course, and the calculator applies UMT's grade points.

D+ (1.3) and D (1.0) were listed as Bachelor-only grades in UMT's Spring 2013 notification. UMT's current assessment page lists grades only down to C- before F, so it is not clear whether current students can receive D+ or D. The Bachelor pass mark is 50%.
What relative grading means at UMT
Under relative grading, the teacher sets grade boundaries after seeing the whole class's results. In one course 78 marks may earn an A-, while in another the same 78 may be a B+. So a "UMT grade calculator" that asks for marks can only guess.
This is why the calculator takes letters. Once you know your letter grades from the portal, the GPA is exact, because UMT fixes the points for each letter.
Worked example: updating a UMT CGPA
A student has a CGPA of 2.95 over 33 credit hours. This semester has five 3 credit hour courses:

New CGPA = (2.95 × 33 + 44.10) ÷ 48 = (97.35 + 44.10) ÷ 48 = 2.95 (2.9469 before rounding).
Minimum CGPA

Can I calculate my UMT GPA from marks?
Not exactly. UMT uses relative grading and publishes no fixed marks-to-grade table, so the same marks can earn different grades in different courses. Use the letter grades shown on your result. Once you have the letters, the GPA is exact, because each letter has a fixed grade point.
What are the UMT grade points for each letter?
