The PAF age limit for Permanent Commission is 16 to 22 years in every PC branch: GD Pilot, Aeronautical Engineering, Air Defence, Admin and Special Duties, and Logistics. Graduates joining through the Short Service Commission are 21 to 23 for GD Pilot and 18 to 30 for Air Defence, Admin, IT, Accounts and Meteorology. Age is counted on the date printed in each course advert.
Choose Permanent Commission, SSC GD Pilot or one of the other SSC branches, then enter your date of birth and the age date from the course advert. The SSC GD Pilot band is only two years wide, so a few weeks can decide it: the result shows the exact margin in years, months and days.

Which date counts
PAF fixes the date on which age is counted in each course advert. The Join PAF website lists the age band for each branch, but the date itself is printed only in the advert for a particular course. Enter the date from the advert you are applying under; the examples below use 1 March 2027 only to show the working.
The limit is read to the day. "16 to 22 years" means you may be 22 years and 0 days old on that date, not a day more, and at least 16 years old.
Worked examples
Suppose a course advert counts age on 1 March 2027.
Bilal, born 20 April 2007, F.Sc, applying for GD Pilot (PC). He would be 19 years, 10 months and 9 days old: within 16 to 22, with 2 years, 1 month and 19 days to spare.
Hassan, born 1 February 2004, graduate, applying for SSC GD Pilot. He would be 23 years and 1 month old: over the 21 to 23 limit by 1 month.
Imran, born 1 May 1997, BS Accounting, applying for SSC Accounts. He would be 29 years and 10 months old: within 18 to 30, with 2 months to spare.
With a different date in the real advert, the answers change, which is why the calculator asks for it.
Candidates rejected by ISSB more often than the PAF rules allow, or tested within 120 days of a previous ISSB appearance, are not eligible. Airman and civilian posts have their own limits in their own adverts. For the other officer entries that go through ISSB, see the PN Cadet age limit and the PMA Long Course age limit. This calculator is not affiliated with the Pakistan Air Force.
PAF age questions
What is the age limit for PAF GD Pilot?
16 to 22 years for GD Pilot through Permanent Commission, after F.Sc or A level, for unmarried men and women. Graduates applying through the Short Service Commission for GD Pilot must be 21 to 23. Age is counted on the date in the course advert.
What is the age limit to join PAF after graduation?
Through the Short Service Commission it is 18 to 30 for Air Defence, Admin and Special Duties, IT, Accounts and Meteorology, and 21 to 23 for GD Pilot. Admin, IT, Accounts and Meteorology accept married candidates.
Can I join PAF at 23?
Not through Permanent Commission, where the limit is 22. A graduate can apply for SSC GD Pilot up to 23 or for the other SSC branches up to 30, if the age on the advert's date is within the limit.
Is there age relaxation in PAF?
The Join PAF eligibility pages list one age band for each branch and no relaxation. If a course advert prints a different band, go by the advert you are applying under.
On which date is PAF age counted?
On the date printed in the course advert, not on the day you register or take the test. Enter that date in the calculator when the course is announced.
