UET Taxila's merit for engineering, engineering technology and computer science is 50% of your HSSC Part I percentage, 33% of your ECAT or TCAT percentage and 17% of your SSC percentage. BS Mathematics and BS Physics have no test: 70% HSSC Part I and 30% SSC.

UET Taxila programme groups
The admission eligibility page splits programmes into three groups:

BS Computer Science also uses 17/50/33, according to UET Taxila's own percentage calculator. The accepted tests are TCAT, ECAT or an equivalent test.
Worked example
Engineering applicant
A student has 270 out of 400 in ECAT, 450 out of 550 in HSSC Part I and 960 out of 1,100 in SSC.
- Test: 270 ÷ 400 × 33 = 22.2750
- HSSC Part I: 450 ÷ 550 × 50 = 40.9091
- SSC: 960 ÷ 1,100 × 17 = 14.8364
- Aggregate: 78.0205%
BS Physics applicant
The same student applying for BS Physics needs no test: 450 ÷ 550 × 70 = 57.2727, plus 960 ÷ 1,100 × 30 = 26.1818, giving 83.4545%. Without a test the board marks carry the whole merit, so the figure is higher, but it is ranked only against other science applicants.
Test marks needed for a target aggregate

Rules that catch applicants out
- Eligibility is strict. You need at least 60% for engineering and 50% for BS programmes. The portal says rounding off a percentage to reach eligibility is not allowed, so 59.9% is not 60%.
- Part I, not full HSSC. The formula uses first-year marks. DAE applicants use their first and second year marks. A level applicants use their IBCC equivalence.
- Hafiz-e-Quran and NCC marks count for merit only. The portal says they do not help you meet eligibility. It does not say how many marks are given, so this calculator does not add any.
- Pre-medical students can apply for engineering only if they pass the test with Mathematics as an additional subject.
The application processing fee in the Fall 2026 FAQs is Rs 4,000.
UET Taxila or UET Lahore?
The weights are the same as UET Lahore: 33% test, 50% first year, 17% Matric. So the same marks give the same aggregate at both. The differences are the test (UET Taxila also accepts its own TCAT), the programme list and the closing merit, which each university sets from its own applicants. How is the UET Taxila aggregate calculated?
For engineering, technology and CS: HSSC Part I ÷ total × 50, plus test ÷ total × 33, plus SSC ÷ total × 17. For 270/400 in ECAT, 450/550 in Part I and 960/1,100 in SSC that is 22.275 + 40.9091 + 14.8364 = 78.0205%.
Does UET Taxila accept ECAT?
Yes. The Fall 2026 portal lists TCAT, ECAT or an equivalent test for engineering and technology programmes. The FAQ describes the test as the engineering university admission test conducted by UET Lahore. Enter whichever score you are using, with its total.
What is the merit formula for BS Mathematics and Physics at UET Taxila?
70% HSSC Part I and 30% SSC, with no entry test. With 450/550 in Part I and 960/1,100 in SSC the aggregate is 57.2727 + 26.1818 = 83.4545%.
Is full FSc used or only Part I?
Only HSSC Part I (first year) for Intermediate students. DAE students use first and second year marks. UET Taxila's formula names Part I because merit is prepared before most Part II results are out.
