Advance tax = recharge × 15 ÷ 115. It is adjustable against your income tax if you file a return.

On Jazz, a Rs 100 load gives Rs 86.96 balance. Jazz states in its terms that "advance income tax rate is @15% on each recharge", and that tax is taken out of the recharge, so Rs 13.04 goes to the FBR. Then 19.5% sales tax is charged on your usage, inside the Rs 86.96.

Type any amount above. Switch to "I want balance" to see what to load for, say, a Rs 500 balance: it is Rs 575.

What Jazz says about its taxes

Jazz's general terms and conditions list these rates:

  • Advance income tax: 15% on each recharge.
  • Sales tax: 19.5% in Islamabad, and 19.5% in the rest of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: exempt from taxes.

Some older Jazz bundle pages still show 16% for Islamabad. The general terms, and Ufone's and Zong's published rates, give 19.5%, which is what this calculator uses. If you are in Islamabad and your balance drops by less than expected, that older figure may be the reason.

Worked example: a Jazz weekly bundle bought from load

Say you load Rs 300 to buy a bundle priced at Rs 260 including tax.

  1. Balance credited: 300 ÷ 1.15 = Rs 260.87
  2. Bundle price taken from balance: Rs 260 (the 19.5% sales tax is already inside this price)
  3. Left over: Rs 0.87

So a Rs 300 load covers a bundle of up to Rs 260.87. The bundle price here is only an example; check the current price in the Jazz World app or by dialling the bundle code.

Jazz balance share and tax

Sending balance to another Jazz number with Jazz Share costs Rs 8.60 including tax per transaction, taken from the sender's balance, according to Jazz. So sharing Rs 50 uses Rs 58.60 of your balance.

If you top up someone else's number directly, the 15% comes off their recharge, the same as if they had loaded it themselves. A Rs 100 easyload to a friend puts Rs 86.96 in their account.

Jazz load tax questions

How much tax on Jazz Rs 100 load?

Rs 13.04 advance income tax, so Rs 86.96 is credited. When you use the balance, 19.5% sales tax is also inside the charges, which is Rs 14.19 of the Rs 86.96. That leaves Rs 72.77 of calls, SMS or data. Total tax is Rs 27.23.

How much balance on Jazz Rs 200 and Rs 500 load?

Rs 200 gives Rs 173.91 and Rs 500 gives Rs 434.78. The formula is always the recharge divided by 1.15. The table above lists more amounts, and the calculator handles any figure you type.

How can I get my Jazz tax certificate?

Jazz issues a certificate of the advance tax collected on your number for a tax year. Ask through Jazz's official app, website or helpline, then attach the figure to your income tax return as tax already paid. The 15% counts against your tax only if you file.

Is Jazz load tax different for filers?

No. Jazz collects 15% from everyone. Section 236 is excluded from the higher non-ATL rates. The exception is a person named by the FBR in a section 114B order, who pays 75% until they file a return.
