PTA tax on a used Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is about Rs 29,514 on passport and Rs 35,028 on CNIC for a filer, at US$348, FBR's value in its used-phone ruling 2070/2026 of 21 April 2026. A non-filer on CNIC pays about Rs 35,998.

That value is just under the US$350 line, which keeps the 9 Pro XL in the US$200 to 350 slab: Rs 8,800 regulatory duty, 18% sales tax and a Rs 1,800 levy. A value above US$350 would cost noticeably more, as the table further down shows.

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, FBR ruling 2070/2026, used at US$348 × Rs 276.66.

Worked example: used Pixel 9 Pro XL on CNIC

  • Value: US$348 × Rs 276.66 = Rs 96,278
  • Additional customs duty: 4% of the value = Rs 3,851
  • Regulatory duty: Rs 8,800
  • Sales tax: 18% of Rs 108,929 (value plus both duties) = Rs 19,607
  • Withholding tax for a filer: Rs 970
  • Mobile levy: Rs 1,800
  • Total on CNIC: Rs 35,028

A non-filer pays Rs 1,940 withholding tax, for Rs 35,998 in all. On passport, within 60 days of arrival, there is no additional duty and no withholding tax: Rs 29,514.

Just under the US$350 line

Above US$350 the fixed items jump: regulatory duty from Rs 8,800 to Rs 12,000, the levy from Rs 1,800 to Rs 4,000, and CNIC withholding tax from Rs 970 to Rs 5,000 for a filer.

Value on the PSID Passport CNIC, filer
US$348 (FBR, used) Rs 29,514 Rs 35,028
US$351 Rs 35,639 Rs 45,222
US$500 Rs 43,059 Rs 54,588
US$700 Rs 78,416 Rs 99,598

So a set valued only a few dollars higher than FBR's figure pays several thousand rupees more, and far more on CNIC.

Used stock, a new set, or your own phone

FBR's US$348 applies to old and used phones without box or accessories imported in commercial quantity, whatever their grade, once they have been active for at least six months before shipment. A higher value on the importer's invoice replaces it.

Two cases fall outside that ruling. A new, boxed Pixel 9 Pro XL is in no FBR ruling, as the ruling for new non-Apple phones (1834/2023) is from December 2023. And a used phone brought in by a traveller falls under that 2023 ruling's passenger note, whose list has no Google models. In both cases customs set the value shown on the PSID, which can be well above US$348. Type that value into the calculator to see your own bill.

Pixel 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro and 9

Used phone FBR value Passport CNIC, filer
Pixel 9 Pro XL US$348 Rs 29,514 Rs 35,028
Pixel 9 Pro US$290 Rs 26,626 Rs 31,382
Pixel 9 US$215 Rs 22,891 Rs 26,668

All three are in the same slab, so the fixed items match and the gap is sales tax and, on CNIC, the additional duty. For an older Google phone, the Google Pixel 6 Pro PTA tax page works from a much lower used value; for a new Android flagship, see the S26 Ultra PTA tax.
