PTA tax on a new iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB is about Rs 112,180 on passport and Rs 138,517 on CNIC for a filer. The 512GB model is about Rs 126,601 and Rs 155,821, and the 1TB model about Rs 139,842 and Rs 171,711.
These use FBR Valuation Ruling 1999/2025 of 23 April 2025, which gives a US dollar value for each iPhone 16 variant: US$1,070, US$1,278 and US$1,469. The rupee figures are at Rs 277.31 to the dollar.
iPhone 16 Pro Max PTA tax by storage

At Rs 277.31 per US$ (SBP interbank rate around 24 to 25 September 2026). CNIC figures include 4% additional customs duty.
The last row uses Apple's US$1,199 launch price for comparison. FBR's own ruling value for the 256GB model is lower than the launch price.
How storage changes the bill
All three storage sizes are above US$700, so they pay the same fixed items: Rs 17,600 regulatory duty and Rs 16,000 mobile levy. Only sales tax, and on CNIC the additional customs duty, grow with the value.
- 256GB to 512GB: US$208 more value adds Rs 14,421 on passport.
- 512GB to 1TB: US$191 more value adds Rs 13,241 on passport.
Storage can matter as much as the route. The 1TB model on passport (Rs 139,842) costs more in tax than the 256GB model on CNIC (Rs 138,517).

New or used
Ruling 1999/2025 covers new iPhones. FBR's ruling for used phones, 2070/2026 of 23 April 2026, lists iPhones only up to the 15 series, so there is no used value for the 16 Pro Max. Customs would set a value itself for a used 16 Pro Max.
If your PSID shows a different figure, it may be because FBR used another value or a different exchange rate. Choose "Enter value in US$" in the calculator and try the value you think applies. The iPhone 15 Pro Max page shows how much lower a used-phone value can be.
