PTA tax on a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is about Rs 127,914 on passport and Rs 157,396 on CNIC for a filer, taking Samsung's US launch price of US$1,299.99 for the 256GB model. A non-filer registering on CNIC pays about Rs 168,896.
Samsung announced the S26 series on 25 February 2026. No FBR valuation ruling lists it yet: the used-phone ruling 2070/2026 stops at the S23 series, and the last ruling for new non-Apple phones, 1834/2023, dates from December 2023. Customs therefore set the value that appears on your PSID.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, US launch price, 256GB (Samsung, 25 February 2026) at US$1,299.99 × Rs 276.66.
The S26 Ultra is far above US$700, so it pays the top slab's fixed items: Rs 17,600 regulatory duty and a Rs 16,000 levy. Sales tax at 25% comes to Rs 94,314 on passport, close to three quarters of the whole bill.
Worked example: 256GB on passport
- Value: US$1,299.99 × Rs 276.66 = Rs 359,655
- Regulatory duty: Rs 17,600
- Sales tax: 25% of Rs 377,255 (value plus duty) = Rs 94,314
- Mobile levy: Rs 16,000
- Total on passport: Rs 127,914
On CNIC the 4% additional customs duty adds Rs 14,386, and because it is taxed too the sales tax rises to Rs 97,910. A filer then pays Rs 11,500 withholding tax, for a CNIC total of Rs 157,396; a non-filer pays Rs 23,000 withholding tax and Rs 168,896 in all.
S26 Ultra next to the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra
| Phone, 256GB | US launch price | Passport | CNIC, filer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | US$1,299.99 | Rs 127,914 | Rs 157,396 |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | US$1,299.99 | Rs 127,914 | Rs 157,396 |
| Galaxy S24 Ultra | US$1,299.99 | Rs 127,914 | Rs 157,396 |
Samsung has launched the 256GB Ultra at the same US price three years running, so at launch prices the three phones pay the same PTA tax. In practice customs may put a lower value on an older Ultra, and a lower value means a lower bill. The S25 Ultra PTA tax page covers each S25 Ultra storage size and the S24 Ultra PTA tax page the 2024 model.
512GB and 1TB sets
Samsung's announcement gives one starting price, US$1,299.99, which is for the 256GB model; the 512GB and 1TB sets cost more. If customs put a higher value on a larger set, only two lines grow, because the duty and levy are fixed above US$700: sales tax at 25%, and on CNIC the 4% additional duty.
| Value on the PSID | Passport | CNIC, filer |

| US$1,299.99 (256GB launch price) | Rs 127,914 | Rs 157,396 |

Galaxy S26 Ultra PTA tax questions
How much is S26 Ultra PTA tax on passport?
About Rs 127,914 at a US$1,299.99 value and Rs 276.66 to the dollar: Rs 17,600 regulatory duty, Rs 94,314 sales tax at 25% and a Rs 16,000 levy. There is no withholding tax and no additional customs duty on passport, so filer status makes no difference on this route.
What is S26 Ultra PTA tax on CNIC?
About Rs 157,396 for a filer. CNIC adds Rs 14,386 additional customs duty at 4% and Rs 11,500 withholding tax, and the sales tax rises to Rs 97,910 because the extra duty is taxed as well.
How much PTA tax does a non-filer pay on the S26 Ultra?
About Rs 168,896 on CNIC. Withholding tax doubles for anyone not on the Active Taxpayers List, to Rs 23,000; every other line is the same as for a filer. Registering on passport within 60 days of arrival avoids withholding tax altogether.
Why is there no FBR value for the S26 Ultra?
FBR's used-phone ruling 2070/2026 of 21 April 2026 lists Samsung's S series only up to the S23, and its ruling for new non-Apple phones, 1834/2023, was issued more than two years before the S26 Ultra. For a model no ruling lists, customs set the value under section 25 of the Customs Act, and that value is printed on your PSID.
Is S26 Ultra PTA tax the same as on the S25 Ultra?
At launch prices, yes. Samsung launched both 256GB models at US$1,299.99 in the US, so both come to Rs 127,914 on passport. A different value on your PSID, for example a lower one for a used S25 Ultra, changes the bill.
Every figure uses Samsung's US$1,299.99 launch price for the 256GB S26 Ultra, the rates in force from 1 July 2026 and Rs 276.66 to the dollar, the State Bank rate of 6 November 2026. It is a guide, not an FBR assessment; the PSID that DIRBS issues for your IMEI is the amount due.
