The PTE test fee in Pakistan is US$240 for PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core, and US$200 for PTE Home A1, A2 or B1. Pearson charges it in US dollars at its 12 Pakistani test centres. At Rs 277.01 a dollar (State Bank rate, 8 October 2026) PTE Academic comes to about Rs 66,482, or Rs 66,815 with a filer's card advance tax.

Pearson takes payment in the currency set for the country of the test, which for Pakistan is US dollars. A voucher can pay a test fee but not a rescheduling fee, and voucher payments are not refunded.
Changing or cancelling a PTE booking
Pearson counts full calendar days before your test time. What you get back depends on how far away the test is when you act.

Inside 14 days the only way to move a test is to cancel it and book a new one. Cancelling 10 days before returns US$120, but the new booking costs the full US$240 again. That change costs about Rs 100,388 in all for a filer, against Rs 66,815 if you had kept the date.
Worked examples
PTE Academic, filer. US$240 × Rs 277.01 = Rs 66,482. Advance tax at 0.5% = Rs 332. Total about Rs 66,815.
Non-filer whose bank adds 3%. Conversion Rs 66,482, bank charge Rs 1,994, tax at 1% on both = Rs 685. Total about Rs 69,162.
PTE Home A1 for a UK family visa. US$200, about Rs 55,402 plus Rs 277 tax = Rs 55,679 for a filer.
Two attempts and a rescore after the second. US$640 in all. At the State Bank rate that is about Rs 178,173 for a filer. The US$160 comes back if your overall or communicative skills score changes.
Rescores, technical reviews and score reports
- Rescore, US$160. A human scorer rescores the whole test. Request it by phone within 14 calendar days of getting your score, once per registration, and only for your latest test. Your score can go down as well as up, and a changed score replaces the old one.
- Technical review, US$50. This checks your Speaking recordings for a technical fault. It never changes your score. If a fault is found, Pearson refunds the review fee and the test fee.
- Score reports are free. PTE Academic scores can be sent to any number of institutions at no charge, up to seven at a time.
- Retakes. You can book a new test once your last scores arrive, and take up to 12 tests in any 12 months. Each one is a fresh fee.
How PTE compares with other English tests
PTE Academic at US$240 costs a little more than the TOEFL iBT at US$230 for Pakistan, and less than the IELTS fee of Rs 76,240 in Lahore. The Duolingo English Test is cheapest at US$70, but fewer visa routes accept it.
Choose by what your university or visa route accepts, not by price alone. PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Home are the versions approved for UK visas; PTE Core is the one recognised for Canadian economic visas.
