Quaid-i-Azam University has no entry test for its BS programmes. Your merit is 70% of your HSSC Part I percentage plus 30% of your Matric percentage. LLB adds the HEC Law Admission Test: 50% Part I, 30% LAT and 20% Matric. Pharm-D uses your complete HSSC marks in place of Part I.

QAU's own online merit calculator writes the BS formula as (Matric obtained ÷ total) × 30 + (HSSC Part I obtained ÷ total) × 70, and the LLB formula as Matric × 20 + Part I × 50 + LAT × 30, each as a fraction of its total. LAT is out of 100.
Worked examples
BS applicant
HSSC Part I 470 out of 550 and Matric 980 out of 1,100.
- Part I: 470 ÷ 550 × 70 = 59.8182
- Matric: 980 ÷ 1,100 × 30 = 26.7273
- Merit: 86.5455%
Pharm-D applicant
Full HSSC 960 out of 1,100 and Matric 1,000 out of 1,100: 61.0909 + 27.2727 = 88.3636%.
LLB applicant
Part I 430 out of 550, LAT 62 out of 100 and Matric 900 out of 1,100.
- Part I: 430 ÷ 550 × 50 = 39.0909
- LAT: 62 ÷ 100 × 30 = 18.6000
- Matric: 900 ÷ 1,100 × 20 = 16.3636

LAT marks needed for an LLB target
LLB applicant from the example: Part I 430 out of 550 and Matric 900 out of 1,100 give 55.4545 points before LAT.

Each LAT mark adds 0.3 to the merit. The table never shows less than 50, because QAU requires a valid LAT result of at least 50: at 70% this student would need only 49 on the formula, but 50 is the minimum that counts.
Minimums and dates for Fall 2026
- BS: at least 50% in HSSC Part I or equivalent.
- Pharm-D: at least 60%, and the complete HSSC result is used.
- LLB (5 years): a valid LAT result with a score of at least 50.
- Foreign certificates: O level, A level and other foreign results need an IBCC equivalence certificate with grades converted to marks.
Applications for BS and LLB closed on 10 August 2026, and the first merit list was displayed on 15 August 2026. The Pharm-D deadline was extended to 29 September 2026. Regular and self-finance seats use the same 30:70 formula; the self-finance seats are a limited number filled on the same merit.
The notice does not mention Hafiz-e-Quran marks or deductions for a gap year, so the calculator adds none.

How is QAU merit calculated for BS?
Merit = HSSC Part I ÷ total × 70 + Matric ÷ total × 30. With 470 out of 550 in Part I and 980 out of 1,100 in Matric, the merit is 59.8182 + 26.7273 = 86.5455%. There is no entry test for BS.
Is there an entry test for QAU BS admission?
Not for BS programmes in the Fall 2026 notice. Merit is from HSSC Part I and Matric only. LLB is the exception: it needs the HEC Law Admission Test (LAT) with at least 50, and LAT carries 30% of the merit.
Does QAU use FSc Part I or full FSc marks?
Part I for BS and LLB. Pharm-D uses complete HSSC marks and needs at least 60%. Enter your marks and totals exactly as they appear on your mark sheet.
How is QAU LLB merit calculated?
Part I ÷ total × 50, plus LAT ÷ 100 × 30, plus Matric ÷ total × 20. With Part I 430/550, LAT 62 and Matric 900/1,100 the merit is 39.0909 + 18.6 + 16.3636 = 74.0545%.
