UAF weights Matric, Intermediate Part I and its entry test at 30 : 30 : 40. So Matric 1,000/1,100, Part I 450/550 and 60% in the test gives an aggregate of 75.8182%.
Matric carries more weight at UAF than almost anywhere else. At NUST it is 10%, and at MDCAT also 10%. A strong Matric result helps a lot here.
The UAF formula
Aggregate = (Matric ÷ total × 30) + (Inter Part I ÷ total × 30) + (entry test ÷ total × 40)
Worked example
Matric 1,000 out of 1,100, Inter Part I 450 out of 550, entry test 60 out of 100.
- Matric: 1,000 ÷ 1,100 × 30 = 27.2727
- Part I: 450 ÷ 550 × 30 = 24.5455
- Entry test: 60 ÷ 100 × 40 = 24.0000
- Aggregate: 75.8182%
Because Matric and Part I have equal weight, one Part I mark (out of 550) is worth twice a Matric mark (out of 1,100).
Entry test total
UAF's admission terms do not state the entry test total. The calculator uses 100, which gives the right answer if you enter your score as a percentage. If your result card shows marks out of another total, type that total in the "Out of" box. The weight stays 40%.
Hafiz-e-Quran. UAF's terms say Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get 20 extra marks, and that these do not count towards minimum eligibility. The document does not say how the 20 marks enter the percentage, so this tool does not add them. Your final merit from UAF will include them if you qualify.

UAF is the only one of these where the test is the largest single part and Matric still counts for almost a third.

Does UAF use full FSc or Part I?
UAF's terms name Intermediate Part I, at 30% of merit. Enter your first-year marks and set the total to match your board, usually 550. Because Part I and Matric carry equal weight, one Part I mark is worth twice a Matric mark out of 1,100.
How many marks do Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get at UAF?
Twenty extra marks, according to UAF's terms and conditions. They do not count towards meeting the minimum eligibility marks. UAF does not explain how they are added to the percentage, so this calculator leaves them out.
