Registering a new 70cc motorcycle in Punjab costs Rs 3,800: Rs 1,000 registration fee, Rs 1,500 lifetime token tax and Rs 1,300 for the smart card. A 125cc bike such as a Honda CG 125 costs Rs 4,800, because the registration fee for 101 to 125cc is Rs 2,000. There is no yearly token after that.

Punjab Excise charges a fixed registration fee for motorcycles and scooters up to 150cc, and 2% of the value above that:

Punjab stopped charging a number plate fee in February 2026. You now get plates made in the market: white metal with black embossed letters, 205 by 70 mm or 200 by 170 mm. Register within 30 days of purchase, or Punjab adds a Rs 500 late fee.

Sindh and KP charge a share of the price, so the fee rises with the bike's value. Islamabad's motorcycle registration fee and Balochistan's could not be confirmed, so they are left out of the total for those provinces.

Sindh, KP and Islamabad
Sindh charges 1% of the value for motorcycles up to 149cc and 2% from 150cc, plus a lifetime token of Rs 1,800 (up to 149cc) or Rs 3,000. Ajrak number plates cost Rs 1,850 for a bike. A 70cc bike at Rs 160,000 comes to Rs 1,600 + Rs 1,800 + Rs 1,850 = Rs 5,250.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa charges 1% of the value, a Rs 2,500 lifetime token and Rs 892 for plates, registration book and scanning. The same 70cc bike costs Rs 4,992.
Islamabad charges a lifetime token of Rs 1,000 up to 200cc, Rs 2,000 up to 400cc and Rs 5,000 above. The Rs 2,400 smart card is from a report of the Islamabad Excise calculator. We could not confirm the registration fee for motorcycles, so ask the counter.
Heavy bikes above 200cc
Section 231B of the Income Tax Ordinance leaves motorcycles up to 200cc out of its definition of a motor vehicle. A bigger bike is not excluded, so the calculator applies the lowest 231B rate, 0.5% of the price for a filer and 1.5% for a non-filer. This is our reading of the law; the excise office or dealer will confirm.
Example: a 250cc bike at Rs 900,000 in Punjab. Advance tax Rs 4,500, registration fee 2% of value Rs 18,000, lifetime token Rs 1,500 and smart card Rs 1,300. Total Rs 25,300 for a filer, Rs 34,300 for a non-filer.

What is the 70cc bike registration fee in Punjab?
Rs 1,000. With the Rs 1,500 lifetime token and the Rs 1,300 smart card you pay Rs 3,800 in all for a new 70cc bike. No yearly token is due after that, and Punjab no longer charges for government number plates.
What is the Honda 125 registration fee in Punjab?
The registration fee for a 101 to 125cc motorcycle is Rs 2,000. Adding the Rs 1,500 lifetime token and Rs 1,300 smart card, a new Honda CG 125 or any other 125cc bike costs Rs 4,800 to register in Punjab.
Do non-filers pay extra when registering a motorcycle?
Not for bikes up to 200cc. Section 231B of the Income Tax Ordinance leaves them out of its definition of a motor vehicle, so no advance tax is collected. For a bike above 200cc a non-filer pays 1.5% of the price instead of 0.5%.
Is token tax on a motorcycle paid every year?
No. All provinces charge motorcycles a lifetime token at first registration: Rs 1,500 in Punjab and Balochistan, Rs 1,800 or Rs 3,000 in Sindh, Rs 2,500 in KP and Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 in Islamabad. In Punjab the new owner pays it again, less 10% a year, on a transfer within ten years.
How late can I register a new motorcycle in Punjab?
Within 30 days of purchase. After that Punjab Excise adds a late registration fee of Rs 500 for a motorcycle. Cars have 60 days before a Rs 2,000 late fee applies.
