Pakistani passport holders are exempt from the Japan visa fee, so a single entry, multiple entry or transit visa costs Rs 0. What you do pay is the VFS Global service charge of Rs 3,500 per application (or US$12.5), which includes all taxes and is paid online when you book the appointment.
Every applicant, child or adult, pays the service charge. Optional services at the Japan Visa Application Centre, such as courier delivery or the premium lounge, cost extra. Add your family and tick the services you want to see the total.

Optional service prices are per applicant and include VAT; photocopies and printing are charged per page. Service and courier charges are not refunded. Japan raised its standard visa fees from 1 July 2026, so check the visa fee line on your appointment confirmation before you pay.
Where you apply
The Embassy of Japan in Islamabad accepts only diplomatic and official visa applications. Every other applicant applies through VFS Global / Gerry's Visa at the Japan Visa Application Centre. Only residents of Sindh and Balochistan can apply at the Karachi centre.
Book the appointment online and pay the Rs 3,500 service charge at the time of booking. All other charges, including optional services, are paid in cash in rupees at the centre. The minimum processing time is six business days, and you cannot apply more than 90 days before your travel date.
