Why the M-2 toll rises every year
Unlike other motorways, the M-2 is run under a concession between the National Highway Authority and a private operator, Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. The agreement links the toll to a per-kilometre charge that goes up about 7% a year. That is why the M-2 moved on a different date (5 July 2026) from the NHA revision of other motorways (10 July 2026).

Shorter trips on the M-2
The M-2 is a closed motorway: your entry is recorded and the toll is taken where you leave, so a shorter trip such as Lahore to Pindi Bhattian costs less than Rs 1,430. We could not confirm an official interchange-by-interchange table, so this page gives only the full-length toll.
M-Tag and the 50% surcharge
Toll on the M-2 is collected through M-Tag. NHA notified an extra 50% toll for vehicles with no M-Tag or too little balance. The Islamabad High Court suspended that surcharge in early July 2026 and extended the stay in August 2026, so it is not being charged while the case is heard. Keep your tag topped up with at least the return fare before you set out.
