The toll for a car on the Lahore to Islamabad motorway (M-2) is Rs 1,430 one way and Rs 2,860 return, from July 2026. For the full length of other motorways a car now pays Rs 700 on M-1, Rs 1,000 on M-3, Rs 1,350 on M-4, Rs 1,500 on M-5 and Rs 800 on M-14.

M-2 Lahore to Islamabad toll by vehicle
M-2 is run under a concession, and its toll rises about 7% a year. The rates below apply from July 2026 until 23 April 2027.

A family making the Lahore to Islamabad round trip four times a month by car pays Rs 11,440 a month in toll, or Rs 137,280 a year.
How motorway toll is charged
On closed motorways such as M-2 and M-1, the toll depends on where you get on and where you get off. Your entry interchange is recorded, and the toll is taken at the exit. The figures above are for driving the whole road. A shorter trip, for example Lahore to Kallar Kahar, costs less.
Toll also depends on the vehicle class: car, wagon, coaster, bus, 2 or 3 axle truck, and articulated truck. For M-1, M-3, M-4, M-5 and M-14 we have confirmed only the new car rates, so the calculator shows other vehicles on those roads as unconfirmed rather than guessing.
M-Tag and the extra charge
In June 2025 NHA notified a higher toll, 50% extra, for vehicles passing with no M-Tag or too little balance. The Islamabad High Court suspended that decision on 4 July 2026 while it hears a petition against it. The calculator uses the normal rate. Keep your M-Tag topped up so the full toll can be taken at the exit.

Toll rates change often: NHA raised them twice in the first three months of 2025, withdrew an increase announced on 3 April 2026 the same day, and revised them again from 10 July 2026. M-9 (Karachi to Hyderabad), M-11 (Lahore to Sialkot) and interchange-to-interchange tolls are not included because we could not confirm the current rates. Check the rate board at the toll plaza.

Rs 700 one way for a car over the full length of M-1, up from Rs 550 before the July 2026 revision. If you leave the motorway at an interchange before Peshawar, you pay less, because M-1 charges by entry and exit point.
Is there a penalty for not having an M-Tag?

How often does motorway toll go up?
