Pakistani passport holders need a Kenya eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) for every visit, and a standard eTA for one entry costs US$30, about Rs 8,305 at the State Bank rate of 23 October 2026. Kenya replaced its visa with the eTA, so this is the whole government fee for an ordinary trip.
Each traveller pays, children and infants included. Choosing expedited processing adds US$100 to every eTA, and frequent visitors can buy a one-year multiple entry eTA for US$300. Enter your group and trips above to see the total.
Kenya eTA fees for Pakistani passports
Fees per traveller on the official Kenya eTA website:
| eTA | Normal, up to 72 hours | Expedited | Normal, about in rupees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard eTA, single entry | $30 | $130 | Rs 8,305 |
| One year multiple entry eTA | $300 | $400 | Rs 83,046 |
| Transit eTA | $20 | $120 | Rs 5,536 |
Normal applications are generally decided within three business days; expedited ones are processed immediately. Rupee amounts use Rs 276.82 per dollar. A five-year multiple entry eTA also appears on the site, but it is for American nationals only.
Who needs the eTA, and what to have ready
Kenya's exemption list covers East African states, a list of African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, and Malaysia, Maldives and Singapore. Pakistan is not on it, so every Pakistani traveller needs an approved eTA before the journey. Passengers who change planes without leaving the airport are exempt; the US$20 transit eTA is for travellers passing through Kenya.
You apply on the official eTA website or the Kenya Travel Authorisation app. Keep these ready:
- a passport valid for at least 6 months, with a blank page
- a selfie or passport-type photo
- your flight itinerary and accommodation booking
- an email address, phone number and a debit or credit card
Business visitors add an invitation letter and the company's registration copy. People visiting family add the host's letter and ID. Apply at least two weeks before you travel.
Worked examples
A family of four on safari
Two parents and two children each need a standard eTA: 4 x US$30 = US$120, about Rs 33,218. If they book late and pay for expedited processing, it becomes US$520, about Rs 143,946.
A trader who flies to Nairobi every month
Twelve standard eTAs in a year cost US$360. The one-year multiple entry eTA costs US$300, about Rs 83,046, so it is cheaper from the eleventh trip. Ten trips cost the same either way: US$300.
Two engineers on a short project
Two standard eTAs, expedited, cost US$260, about Rs 71,973.
Passport running short of six months? Check the passport fee in pakistan before you apply. Stopping in Dubai on the way? Work out the dubai visa fee from pakistan for a visit there.
Paying the fee
The fee is paid by card on the eTA website when you submit. It is not refunded if the eTA is refused or your travel plans change, and it cannot be moved to another person. If you notice a mistake after submitting, you may have to file a new application, and that is charged again, so check every field first.
Your card issuer converts the dollars at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction charge. Enter your bank's rate above for a closer rupee figure.
Kenya eTA questions
What is the Kenya visa fee for Pakistani?
Kenya now issues an eTA instead of a visa. For a Pakistani passport the standard single entry eTA costs US$30, about Rs 8,305. A one-year multiple entry eTA costs US$300 and a transit eTA US$20.
Do Pakistanis need an eTA for Kenya?
Yes. Pakistan is not on Kenya's list of exempt countries, so every Pakistani traveller needs an approved eTA before departure. Only passengers who stay inside the airport between connecting flights are exempt.
How much does the expedited Kenya eTA cost?
US$100 more than the normal fee for each eTA. A standard eTA with expedited processing costs US$130, about Rs 35,987, and is processed immediately instead of within three business days.
Do children pay the Kenya eTA fee?
Yes. Infants and children need their own approved eTA, and the eTA website lists no child rate. A couple with three children pays 5 x US$30 = US$150 for standard eTAs. Groups can apply together using the group option.
Is the Kenya eTA fee refundable?
No. The fee is not refunded if the eTA is refused, and it cannot be transferred to someone else. A new application made to correct a mistake is charged again.
When is the one-year multiple entry eTA worth it?
When you will visit Kenya more than ten times in twelve months. Ten standard eTAs cost US$300, the same as one multiple entry eTA, so the yearly eTA saves money from the eleventh trip and saves applying each time.
