What you need for the free visa on arrival

The visa is stamped at the airport with no application in advance. Immigration checks that you have:

  • a machine-readable passport valid for at least one month
  • a confirmed return or onward ticket
  • a prepaid booking at a registered resort, hotel or guesthouse, or enough money for the stay (the Maldives missions guide is US$100 plus US$50 a day)
  • the IMUGA traveller declaration, filled in online within 96 hours before arrival for every traveller, children included

The declaration costs nothing, and employment is not allowed on a tourist visa. Make sure your passport has well over a month left: if it does not, check the passport fee in pakistan for a renewal.
