A New Zealand visitor visa from Pakistan costs NZD 441 for one person: the NZD 300 application fee, the NZD 41 immigration levy and the NZD 100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). At Rs 154.83 per New Zealand dollar that is about Rs 68,280.
A partner and dependent children can go in the same application, so a family pays the application fee and levy once and the IVL for each person. Two parents and two children pay NZD 741, not four full fees.
What a family pays in one application
Immigration New Zealand fees for applicants outside New Zealand who are not from the Pacific:
| Family in one application | Application fee and levy | IVL | Total | About, in rupees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 adult | NZD 341 | NZD 100 | NZD 441 | Rs 68,280 |
| 2 adults | NZD 341 | NZD 200 | NZD 541 | Rs 83,763 |
| 2 adults, 1 child | NZD 341 | NZD 300 | NZD 641 | Rs 99,246 |
| 2 adults, 2 children | NZD 341 | NZD 400 | NZD 741 | Rs 114,729 |
| 2 adults, 3 children | NZD 341 | NZD 500 | NZD 841 | Rs 130,212 |
The rupee column uses Rs 154.83 per New Zealand dollar. Your card is charged in New Zealand dollars, so your bank's rate decides the final figure.
Why one application costs less than four
Immigration New Zealand's fees guide says you pay one application fee and immigration levy for everyone included in an application, while the IVL is charged for each person. A general visitor visa application can include your partner and your dependent children. A child counts as dependent at 19 or younger, unmarried and dependent on you.
Anyone else applies on their own and pays the full NZD 441. That covers your parents, a brother or sister, and grown up children who support themselves or are married. Untick the family box above to see the cost of separate applications.
Worked examples
A student's parents visiting for graduation
Mother and father in one application: NZD 300 + NZD 41 + 2 x NZD 100 = NZD 541, about Rs 83,763. This matches the couple example in Immigration New Zealand's own fees guide.
A family of five on holiday
Two parents and three children under 19 in one application: NZD 300 + NZD 41 + 5 x NZD 100 = NZD 841, about Rs 130,212. Five separate applications would cost NZD 2,205.
Three friends travelling together
Friends cannot share an application, so each pays NZD 441: NZD 1,323 in all, about Rs 204,840.
Going on to Australia? The Australia visa fee calculator works out the visitor visa there, where each person applies separately.
Applying and paying
From 1 October 2026 visitor visa applications must be made online. The application fee, levy and IVL are added together and paid by card when you submit. Immigration New Zealand notes that paying in a currency other than New Zealand dollars can make the amount vary slightly because of exchange rates.
If the visa is declined, the fees and levies are not refunded. The IVL is charged again each time you apply, so a second application after a refusal costs the full amount again.
New Zealand visa fee questions
What is the New Zealand visit visa fee for Pakistanis?
NZD 441 for one person: NZD 300 application fee, NZD 41 immigration levy and NZD 100 IVL. That is about Rs 68,280 at Rs 154.83 per New Zealand dollar.
Do children pay the New Zealand visitor levy?
Yes. The fees guide says every family member included in an application pays the IVL unless exempt, and children are not exempt. A child added to a parent's application adds NZD 100, not a full application fee.
What is the IVL?
The International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy, NZD 100 per person since 1 October 2024. It funds conservation and tourism and is collected with the visa application. It is not refunded, even if the visa is declined.
How much is a New Zealand visa for a couple?
NZD 541 if the partner is included in the same application: one application fee and levy, and two IVL payments. That is about Rs 83,763.
Why does the official site say from NZD 441?
NZD 441 is the price for one person: NZD 300 + NZD 41 + NZD 100. Each extra family member in the same application adds only the NZD 100 levy. Pacific citizens pay less and no IVL, but that does not apply to Pakistani passports.
