To count time, the days calculator gives the days between two dates or a date a set time away, and the working days calculator takes off weekends and Pakistan's public holidays for 2026 and 2027. Retirement and service dates are in the pay and pension section.
How the dates are counted
- Age is counted in completed years, then months, then days. A month that is too short ends on its last day, so someone born on 31 January completes a month on 28 February.
- Days between dates leave out the end date unless you tick the box. For leave and service, both days usually count.
- Age limits are read to the day: "not more than 30" allows 30 years and 0 days on the cut-off date.
- Holidays are the federal gazetted list. Islamic holidays depend on moon sighting, and 2027 dates are estimates until the Cabinet Division notifies them.

What is the CSS age limit?
21 to 30 years on 31 December of the year before the exam, with 2 more years for government servants with 2 years' service and some other groups. For CSS 2027 the age is taken on 31 December 2026. The government job age calculator checks it for you.
How many working days are in 2026?
248 for a Monday to Friday office and 299 for a Monday to Saturday office, after taking off the federal public holidays. There are 365 days in 2026 and 261 weekdays before holidays.
When do government employees retire?
On completing 60 years of age, which takes effect from the day before the 60th birthday. Someone born on 17 November 1968 retires from 16 November 2028. The retirement date calculator gives your date and the service left.
